Ethiopia is located in the Horn of Africa, while Tigray is a province in the north of Ethiopia.

The Civil War of Ethiopia began in March 2020 between Tigray People's Liberation Front, or TPLF, and the Ethiopian National Defence Force. The conflict was raised by Tigray's disapproval of Ethiopia's ethnic and national politics and attempt to establish its government.
Due to heavy civilian casualties, a truce was signed on March 24th 2022, to allow humanitarian supply to enter Tigray. A recent UN report revealed by CBS News described that over 90 per cent of the population in the area, which was around 5 million people, required food and aid desperately.

However, according to France 24, the war began once more on August 24th and threatened the lives of vulnerable people due to the shortage of humanitarian supplies. UN's Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said,
“The last humanitarian convoy to enter Tigray was the convoy on August 23rd consisting of 158 trucks with humanitarian and operational supplies.”

African News reported that TPLF's leader Debretsion Gebremichael wrote a letter on September 7th which called for a conditional truce which depended on the return of humanitarian supplies and necessary services in the Tigray region, while the Ethiopian government had yet to respond. At the same time, diplomatic measures were taken to prevent further tension, whereas both sides still blame each other for renewing the war.
The endless conflicts between Ethiopia and Tigray bring us to consider the following:
How can the two forces reach a permanent ceasefire?
