On the afternoon of September 8, she passed away at Balmoral Castle, the royal residence in Scotland. The legendary "Queen of the Century" life ended in 96.

On the morning of September 19, the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II was held at Westminster Abbey in London.

Britain held a state funeral for Queen Elizabeth II, attended by members of the royal family, British government officials, and dignitaries from many countries. The funeral ceremony lasted about an hour and was attended by about 2,000 people. Many British people also rushed to London or watched the live broadcast through British media to say their final farewell to the Queen.

However, not everyone in the world expressed their condolences in response to the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

For instance, most Kenyans do not mourn Queen Elizabeth II because her death remotivates a sensitive debate about the history of Kenya being colonized by the British.

According to AfricaNews, just a few months after Queen Elizabeth II became monarch in 1952, Kenya's Mau Mau rebellion against British rule was brutally repressed. The Kenya Human Rights Commission later said 90,000 people were executed, tortured, or maimed in one of the bloodiest repressions of the British empire.

Regarding a community radio station from BBC News, MJ Mojalefa, the 22-year-old DJ, wants his large youth audience to share their thoughts on the legacy of the British empire; one of the young Kenyans said, "what the British did to the African culture, to the African nations, to our wealth, to our organization of society - really they need to come out and apologize to us."

Furthermore, people also want the British royal family to return the world's largest known clear-cut diamond, the Star of Africa, as was recently reported on CNN News.

Overall, more and more conflicts and debates have come out after the death of Queen Elizabeth II. They show not only many unhealed wounds and trauma from colonial times but also the importance of Queen Elizabeth II to Britain.

Anyways,

“Don't look back in anger.”

Everyone needs to move on.
